Sofia has a population of approx 1,200,000
million people and is Bulgaria's Capital City and is situated
in the Southwest of Bulgaria..
Following the demise of communism in
1989 Sofia continues to" Westernise" as gleaming

Sofia sits on a 545 metre plateau at
the foot of MT Vitosha, having excellent hiking and skiing
spots on its doorstep. The city is also the hub of much
of Bulgaria's public transport network, which includes
trams, buses, trolleybuses and an underground metro system.
The cost is 0.50.lv single ticket ,a one day pass costs
2.lv whereas a 5 day pass will cost 9.lv. Taxi's too are
very affordable and are metered.
Sofia is renowned for its many museums,
historical architectural and cultural sites. Whilst being
a gourmet heaven it has an unrivalled selection of international
cusines at wonderfully low prices. It hosts great nightlife
amongst its bars, nightclubs, discos, and shows which
are very varied along with its fair share of cafes, snack-bars
and fast food outlets.
