of prey, following the Via Pontica migratory route,
pass over especially in autumn. Mandra Lake is an Important
Bird Area primarily due to its significance for the
water-connected birds during winter. Its waters provide
safety and good food resources to many Black-necked
Grebes, Great and Pygmy Cormorants, Dalmatian Pelicans,
Mute, Whooper and Bewick’s Swans, White-fronted
birds. |
